Apple Pie

  1. Implements
    1. Nine inch pie baking plate.
    2. Paring knife.
    3. Pastry dough cutter.
    4. Waxed paper.
    5. Rolling pin.
  2. Ingredients
    1. Six Granny Smith apples.
    2. xxx cup sugar
    3. yyy tablespoons cinnamon
    4. zzz teaspoons of nutmeg
    5. Flour, crisco, cold water as per the pastry recipe.
    6. vvv Tablespoons of butter.
  3. Operations
    1. Prepare two pastry crusts a la the pumpkin pie recipe.
    2. Line the pie pan with one crust.
    3. Set the other crust aside.
    4. Peel and core the apples.
    5. Cut the peeled apples into thin slices
    6. Arrange the apple slices in the pie pan.
    7. Mix the sugar and spices.
    8. Spread the sugar-spice mix on the apples.
    9. Place pats of butter on top of the sugar and spice.
    10. Cover the pie with the other crust.
    11. Cut out decorative holes in the top crust.
    12. Warm oven to 350 degrees.
    13. Bake for xx minutes.
    14. Cool on a wire rack for an hour.

  4. Serving, Saving
    1. Serve after cooling.
    2. Top with fresh whipped cream.
    3. After the first evening, store the remaining pie in a pie saver in the refrigerator.
