Basil Pesto

- Ingredients
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 2 cups of fresh basil
- 3 Tablespoons pine nuts
- dash of salt, dash of pepper
- one half cup extra virgin olive oil
- one half cup grated parmesan cheese
- Directions
- Add the basil, garlic, salt, pepper, and pine nuts to the mortar.
- Grind to a paste.
- Add the parmesan cheese. Pound until well-mixed.
- Whisk in the olive oil until the desired consistency is reached.
- Deploy
- Serve on pasta or fresh bread.
- Use as a topping for pizza.
